Skagit Climate Talks: Climate Change & National Security

March 24 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free
Climate change and national security are inseparable and events in either field affect the other. Bob Hallahan will discuss some of the ways that climate change is affecting our national security, including a review of food and water security and the causes of population migrations. He will discuss the Pentagon’s changing posture on climate. Also, he will provide a timely look at the Ukraine invasion and how it might resonate through the energy markets into a possible accelerated climate response.
Whidbey Island resident, Bob Hallahan, is a retired U.S. Navy pilot and current international airline pilot. Bob is an active volunteer who led the Whidbey Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby many years, as well as elected member of his local school board. He has master’s degree in National Security from the U.S. Naval War College and is currently a master’s program student in Energy Policy & Climate at Johns Hopkins University.
