Sagebrush Seed Collection
Get outside and join us for an excursion to collect sagebrush seeds in Amon Basin with our friends from Tapteal Greenway! We’ll learn some of the basics of native seed collection including collecting etiquette and when and how to tell if seeds are ripe. The seeds we collect will be used in CBWNPS chapter events + local restoration projects. All are welcome to this free event!
MEETING PLACE:
Parking lot of Amon Creek Elementary (18 Center Parkway, Richland, WA)
From there, we’ll walk .2 mi to the collection site.
Things to note:
A majority of the collection site will be along uneven terrain with sections to collect along a paved road. Closed toe shoes, long pants and gloves are recommended. We will be outdoors for the duration of this event so dress for the weather!
Folks under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian along in order to join in on the fun!
What to Bring: A large paper bag or 5 gallon bucket would be helpful if you have it.
Date is subject to change pending on seed ripeness. RSVP here to stay in the loop if anything changes=> https://forms.gle/kkzeH4gLTi85eoVY7
Huge thank you to Tapteal Greenway for collaborating and hosting us for this collection on their site!
